Dr. Girish B. Jani, Director, Sanskrit Studies and Research, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, delivered online a lecture on ‘Literary Approach of Research in Sanskrit’, on March 3, 2022, under the special lecture series of ‘New Dimensions of Sanskrit Research’ organised by Department of Sanskrit, University of Mumbai.
In his lecture, Dr. Jani discussed the various aspects of Indological
research and different approaches of research in Sanskrit, related with life of author, source and form of creative writing, psychology of characters, author’s views regarding philosophy, society, and life as well as feminism. He also spoke on the changing focus of literary study of Sanskrit literature from the connoisseur to the composer and his surroundings.
